GEORGE BRISTLEY DIES SUDDENLY AT CONRAD:
George Bristley died suddenly Monday evening at his home two miles southwest
of Conrad from a heart attack. He had been in his usual health during the day
and had eaten supper with his family shortly before he was stricken and the end
came soon thereafter. He was 73 years old and had resided in the Conrad vicinity
over 60 years. He resided on a farm during all of the years that he livedi n
Grundy county. He rented his farm land a few years ago but he and his wife continued
to make their home on the farm.
Mr. Bristley was born in Hamilton, Ohio, July 14, 1868. He came to Iowa with
his parents at the age of 12. The family located on a farm in the southwest portion
of the county. Mr. Bristley had lived on his own farm the past 47 years.
Mr. Bristley married Rosa Frazey in March, 1891. They began housekeeping on a
farm and four years later moved to the farm where Mr. Bristley died. Two children
were born to this union. They are Mrs. Ruth Hallens from Cedar Rapids and Mrs.
Faye Donner form Spencer, South Dakota. The wife and mother died Feb. 13, 1899.
On Dec. 2, 1900, Mr. Bristley married Winifred Frazey, his first wife's sister,
who survives him.
Beside the widow and two daughters, Mr. Bristley is survived by two brothers,
Clem and Jud, and two sisters, Mrs. Oliver Beeghley and Mrs. Elva Bristley, all
Funeral services will be held in the Methodist church in Conrad this afternoon.
Burial will be in the Conrad cemetery.
